4K Sidecar team, David Gannon and Raymond George
Well done to the 4K team of David Gannon and Raymond George, a couple of thirds amongst the best Sidecar combo's in the world. A DNF and DNS look to have kept the combination out of World Championship contention but I'm sure, the experience will be invaluable

Financial Update
Well the new season has started for us which means we're back into paying off our club's debt

Quick review on last season we started off with a grand total debt of $129,467.26 and finished up the season with a total of $56,831.07 which meant the club had reduced it debt by $72,636.19. Thank you to everyone for that effort

This season we have to stay focused on our target which is to pay back the $56,831.07 which working on last years numbers should be easily done, we hope!!

The opening meeting was a little less then what we budgeted with only $10,700.00 coming through the gate's but not to be laughed at. We'll be putting $4,000.00 towards the debt so that's a good start to it and lets hope for the same again on our second race meet on the 12th of November

Cheers, James
(Club Treasurer)

FORTUNE FAVOURS THE CRUSADERS
Crusaders have begun their teams season with a victory over the Stormers in Stratford

After majors last night with Dave Moore and Lee Patrick's cars, the Crusaders were down to three and in stepped Rhys Beaumont

4 on 4 over 12 laps, Rhys got away off grid two and was relatively untouched on his way to the chequered flag

Well done to Ben, Bruce, Rhys and Lindsay... well done!

Rays BIG Saturday of Racecars and Hangi
Starting the hangi
Mixing grout to repair the wall
Well, what a great day. A few of us arrived around 8 o'clock, Ray started preparing the track almost immediately. The boys started on the hangi and Bob and Darren went about mixing the grout to repair the wall.
Prepping the bike track
The Bike guys and girls arrived soon after to set up and prep the bike track
Lining up for practice
Once a productive four or five hours had passed the track was ready, the concreting was done, the night's dinner was in the hangi pit and the riders and drivers had lined up for practice two
The hangi coming out of the ground
A few hours later, the hangi was close to ready. It was back to the clubrooms to watch the world cup and hoe-into the biggest $10 feed you'd ever seen!
What a great night
We had hoped to serve 80 friends, families, members and visitors and we were on the money! 80 TICKETS SOLD, all on the day and by all accounts, everyone enjoy themselves and the meal.
An awesome way to end the day and another fundraising success! Between the meals, raffles and bar take we've raised $1600!!! Thanks so much to everyone who contributed - the donators and helpers, the cooks and food preparers, the dishwashers and servers and of course, everyone who stayed to enjoy each other's company and another social fundraiser. Thank you for your support.

2K Quiz Night a big success
What an awesome night Friday night was. In true Kihikihi-styles, we kicked off a few minutes late but that was no concern. The evening was well patronized and organized. Once the questions started rolling, the energy levels lifted along with the noise and the night flowed superbly amongst the banter and bribes.

About 80 friends, members, helpers and caterers came along and made this a great fundraising success for us. Thanks to the team that tidied up Thursday night, the helpers on the bar, the people that donated items for the raffles, the caterers, the folks that ran the quiz and all the teams that entered. Also, a special mention to our supporters who travelled from Tauranga and Auckland, etc. to be a part of what will now become a regular off-season event for the Kihikihi Speedway Club.

Congratulations to team Te Awamutu Tractors for their Quiz Night success - they'll be back to defend the title in 2012.

MONEY RAISED
Bar and Entrance fee $1794
Raffles $291
Bribe money $329
